Time flies when you deeply care about something
by Oskar Freye
A reflection on the past two months and a look into the future.

Oh boy was i mistaken at the beginning of this year, when i wrote my first blog post. I made some bold claims about writing this blog in a regular manner and pushing weekly posts, but reality quickly caught up with me.
I set myself the goals to do a lot of LeetCode challenges in elixir and write about in this blog. I did it for a week or two, but then life happened. A new project kick off at work and a strong breeze of a new idea transported my focus into another direction. My attention in the free time from work i had, was captured by a new shiny object: The Development of a new mobile app.
The Ghost Project
I just call it the ghost project for now, because you can’t see it yet. All I can say it that it solves a burning problem/desire that i have. I can’t say more about it, because it’s still in the early stages of development. But I can tell you that it’s a mobile app and that I am developing it in flutter. I am very excited about it and I can’t wait to share it with you. But it will take some time, because I want to do it right.
It’s helping me freshing up my knowledge about Firebase and it’s new Vertex AI features. There is actually some knowledge i’d like to share with you about, regarding Vertex AI. You can hopefully look forward to an additional blog post in the next days, where i will share a prototype version of an textbased adventure game powered by Vertex AI. It’s called AIventures and you can find it on my GitHub.
When i started with the other App i totally forgot about my plans of writing weekly blog posts, it’s just so much more captivating working on something you deeply care about. You can work long hours, going the extra mile and it’s not burning you out at all. When i remembered my plans with this blog, it was already March. Just two months packed full of pure hustle. Here we are. I guess if i wouldn’t had a fulltime job, the app would be already online. So this week i realized this project has to go on and i decided to make this little adventure game to showcase Vertex AI, to than slowly build up more information in the coming weeks about the “ghost project”. So hang in tight and buckle up because it’s going to be wild.
