Connecting with your partner

How do I connect with my partner?

Open the app and go to Profile → Share Invite Code. Your partner enters this code in their app — once they do, you're connected. The code is one-time use and can only be redeemed by one person.

My partner entered the code but we're not connected.

Make sure both devices have an active internet connection. Pull down in the app to refresh. If the issue persists, email us at oskar@freye.tech.

Can I use Caramia with more than one person?

No. Caramia is intentionally designed for exactly two people — the two of you. There are no groups, no social features, and no public profiles.

iCloud Shared Album

How do I connect our iCloud Shared Album?

Go to Photos → Connect Album in the app and select your shared iCloud album from the list. Caramia reads photos directly from Apple — you don't need to upload or re-share anything.

I connected the album but don't see any photos.

Make sure Caramia has photo access in iOS Settings: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Caramia → All Photos. If the album appears empty, pull down in the gallery to reload it.

Are our photos uploaded to your servers?

No. Caramia reads photos directly from your iCloud Shared Album via Apple's photo framework. No images are uploaded to or stored on our servers.

Question Cards

How do the question cards work?

A new question is unlocked each day. Answer it at your own pace — asynchronously, no time pressure. Once both of you have answered, you can see each other's responses. There are 100 questions across three tiers of depth.

We skipped a question. Can we go back?

Skipped questions appear in the card history and can be answered any time. You can also adjust the order in Settings.

Privacy & Data

What data does Caramia store?

Caramia stores your account, shared events, milestones, question card answers, vouchers, and planned dates in an encrypted Firestore database. Photos are loaded exclusively from your iCloud Shared Album and are never copied to our servers.

Is our data sold or used for ads?

No. Caramia contains no ads and sells no data. The app is free with no advertising model.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes all your data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Notifications

I'm not receiving push notifications.

Make sure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings: Settings → Notifications → Caramia → Allow Notifications. You can also manage notification preferences directly in the app under Profile → Notifications.
