Push-Up App Lock
Why does the app need camera access?
The push-up lock uses your camera to detect and count push-up repetitions in real time using on-device pose estimation. Your camera feed is processed entirely on your device — no video is ever recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
My push-ups aren't being counted correctly. What should I do?
Make sure your full body is visible in the frame and you're in a well-lit area. Try the calibration flow in Settings → App Lock → Calibrate — it adjusts the detection to your individual form baseline. Avoid loose-fitting clothing that obscures your body outline.
Can I change which apps are locked?
Yes. Go to Settings → App Lock → Manage Apps to add or remove apps from the lock list. You can also set different rep counts per app.
Is there an emergency unlock?
Yes. There is an emergency unlock option on the lock screen. Using it starts a cooldown timer — you won't be able to use emergency unlock again until it resets. This is intentional to maintain accountability.
Apple Health
Why does GymGeist request Health permissions?
GymGeist reads health data (heart rate, HRV, sleep, calories, and more) from Apple Health to power the recovery dashboard. You control exactly which data types to share in the Health app. GymGeist also writes workout sessions back to Apple Health so your training shows up in the Activity rings.
How do I change which Health data GymGeist can access?
Open the iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security → Health → GymGeist. You can enable or disable individual data types at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
My recovery dashboard isn't showing data.
Make sure you've granted at least read access to heart rate, HRV, and sleep in the Health permissions (see above). If you've recently granted permission and data still isn't showing, pull down to refresh the dashboard. Data availability depends on what your Apple Watch or other devices have recorded.
AI Coach & Plans
The AI coach isn't responding. What's wrong?
The AI coach requires an active internet connection and a Pro subscription. Check your connection and make sure your subscription is active under Settings → Manage Subscription. If the issue persists, email us at oskar@freye.tech.
Can I edit my workout plan manually?
Yes. You can edit any exercise, set, rep, or rest period directly in the plan detail view. You can also tell the AI coach to change specific parts in plain language — for example, "add more core work on Wednesday" — and it will update the plan.
Will my workout and nutrition data be used to train AI models?
No. Your personal data is not used to train any AI models. Conversations with the AI coach are processed by Google's Gemini API under their enterprise data privacy terms. See our privacy policy for full details.
Subscriptions & Billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. To cancel: open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → GymGeist → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
I purchased a subscription but Pro features aren't unlocked.
Go to Settings → Manage Subscription → Restore Purchases. If that doesn't work, sign out of your GymGeist account and sign back in. If the issue persists, contact us with your Apple receipt and we'll sort it out.
Does the Lifetime plan cover future features?
Yes. The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase that includes all current and future Pro features, with no recurring charges.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are processed by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. If you believe there was an error or you have a specific situation, email us and we'll advocate on your behalf.
Account & Data
How do I delete my account?
In the app: go to Settings → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data from our servers, including workout history, chat history, and plans. This action cannot be undone.
What data does GymGeist collect?
See our privacy policy for a full breakdown. The short version: we collect your account info, workout and nutrition data you create in the app, and AI coach chat history. We don't sell your data.
