The Airlock — Ship or get logged
The Airlock is an accountability platform for indie hackers with real stakes: declare a mission, ship one app in 30 days with a working buy button, and attach proof. Miss the hatch and your handle goes on the public airlock log — forever.
How it works
- Board the ship — Buy a boarding pass and claim one of 100 numbered seats
- Declare a mission — Publicly commit to shipping a specific product with a deadline
- Attach proof — Submit a live URL with a working buy button before the hatch closes
- Confirmed or airlocked — Confirmed launches land on your public launch wall; misses get stamped on the airlock log
Features
- Public crew profiles with mission logs, launch walls, and lifetime stats
- Astronaut suit avatars and a retro space-station design language (pixel frames, stamps, VT323 terminal type)
- “The Wake” — a public feed of every seal, hatch, and paid release
- Preset miss posts: extra pressure via automated public accountability posts
- OG-image mission patches with SVG spaceship fallbacks for launch cards
Stack
- Frontend: Astro with SSR running on AWS Lambda (Function URLs)
- Auth & Billing: Clerk with paid boarding passes via Clerk Billing
- Analytics: PostHog (EU) behind a first-party relay proxy with PII redaction
- Design: Custom CSS design system — grain overlays, ember washes, pixel sprites
Shipped as its own first mission: “Ship Airlock v1.0 + Clerk billing” — declared 05/12/2026, confirmed 06/12/2026 from Seat 01.
